Description
John Smoltz, also known as “Marmaduke”, is a legendary MLB pitcher who played for the Atlanta Braves. This painting is a recreation of a shot from the game. In the gallery show, it was hung on a wall, displayed with other baseball players, all titled with their nicknames and the number representing which iteration it was of the painting. Before the series against the Minnesota Twins, Marmaduke was 2-11. However, out of nowhere, he turned it all around in the set, winning 3 games out of the 7 games, and in game 7, pitching 7 scoreless innings. Although the Atlanta Braves lost this series, John Smoltz still went down in history, and this particular performance was remembered because of his grit and determination.
